Little known fact: I love children's books. Alright. If you have ever met me, you probably know it. As I sit, I am wearing a "I love Harry Potter" shirt. I really don't think that's a problem, either. It is tastefully blended into a very adult outfit with a pink corduroy quilted jacket and big girl jeans. So there. Keep your judgey-judgedness to yourself!
I had an appointment at 6:45 with Hollywood Palms (go there!) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Hello, Ben Barnes in 3D! Why the hell didn't this happen sooner? We actually arrived in the theatre about twenty minutes late. Whoops! Damn fog! The first thing I really focused on with the glasses was a really awesome 3D face-full of Reepicheep the mouse. Yum. Speaking of those God forsaken glasses, how do I always forget how uncomfortable it is to layer 3D specs over my own? Really, me, it's a feeling you do not enjoy. Avoid 3D. But meeeee! Ben Barnes! And those other guys! Okay, me, we'll put up with it. Back to talking about the movie. Umm, it was great. That's really all I can say. I remember very little of the books and cannot compare the two.
You see, I read the books and reread the books several times by the conclusion of elementary school. I did not touch them again until I attempted to read all of them before Prince Caspian hit theatres. I read Magician's Nephew. That's the first one, by the way. Then I shelved the series once more. I found the entire series on disc by some British radio program and snapped it up at the high price of five dollars. On the way back to school that break, I attempted to listen to several books. I heard Magicians Nephew. Then I started dozing off into the Narnia in my mind. That's when I shelved the discs indefinitely. I find myself attempting to listen to the series once more. I'm currently ripping the discs to iTunes. Then I will update my iPod to host the books. Now I can try to listen no matter where I go.
I'm starting with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe this time.
